Real estate tracker Max Galka created an interesting map of the U.S. according to residential property value, resulting in a distorted map of our country. The animation shows the Bay Area--among a couple other red hot housing markets--swallowing the U.S. "About half of the total value comes from the top five states: California, New York, Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania, respectively," writes Galka. The red areas of the map signify a total housing value in the $40 billion to $1 trillion range, a range that the entire Bay Area falls under.
