Apple Campus
Apple Inc. is building a 2.8 million-square-foot headquarters in Cupertino that will cost roughly $5 billion. The building in progress is nicknamed the "spaceship" because of it's circular structure and futuristic design. Originally, DPR Construction Inc. and Skanska USA were contracted to complete the project. However, Apple has recently parted ways with the contractor. Skanska has released a statement saying they and an unidentified client were not able to reach an agreement in negotiations. Approximately $800 million worth of work has been lost. DPR and Skanska have been replaced by Rudolph & Sletten, who have been responsible for big projects such as the UCSF Smith Cardiovascular Research Building, the Red Hawk Casino in Placerville, and the Pepsi Cola Production & Distribution Center.
